Hi, I'm Benoni.

I research and communicate the applied science of optimising health, performance and lifespan.

I do deep dives into these topics, and share my finding through my videos and articles.

I also track my health experiments, sharing my evidence-based training and nutritional insights.

About Me.

I am a senior medical writer and science communicator based in London, UK.

Ever since the captivating “Find Your Greatness” campaign by Nike for the 2012 Olympics aired on my childhood TV, I’ve been utterly fascinated by the world of marketing and brands. The power of marketing to evoke deep, stirring emotions and associate these feelings to their brands is truly remarkable. I’m eager to explore the science of marketing, uncovering its influence, techniques, and concepts with cool graphics and simple terms, and share my learnings with you. I collect my favourite examples here in my SWIPE File.

Combining marketing with my passion for science and healthcare was one of the best decisions I ever made. Since graduating from university, I’ve worked for agencies like Wave Healthcare and Lucid Group and have freelanced for some global healthcare companies.

I’m also working on my own projects that interest me. Including: exploring business ideas, taking things apart and understanding how they work, using this to creating new things and sharing what I learn.

After recently exploring South America and living in the Amazon Rainforest, I’m missing the agency life.

I’m now searching for an agency where I can continue the work that I’m passionate about.

My current projects.

  • Writing – I love every step of the writing process. From ideation to deep research through to the drafting and meticulous refining process. I find that Writing transforms vague ideas into clear concepts, both externally and internally, engaging critical thinking. Writing is a powerful tool for clarifying and communicating thoughts, compelling us to engage critically and activate often idle parts of our brain. Echoing Einstein, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”
  • Learning to code – I will be sharing my coding projects here.
  • Wildlife and Nature Photography.
  • Extreme rural travelling.

My 2024 Goals.

  • Work with interesting people on some interesting projects that make a meaningful impact on the world.
  • Write 12 high-quality articles for my blog.
  • Summit a mountain above 4500 metres.
  • Do a backflip. Anywhere.
  • 35-inch vertical, sub-11-second 100m, bench press 8x140kg.
  • Film 4 videos about something interesting I learned.
  • Create 3 unique tools using code.
  • Raise £1000 for my chosen charities.
  • Make £1000 MRR.
  • Travel to 2 new countries.

Personal Stuff.

Wow, still here? Ok, time for the fun stuff.

  • I’m a general all-round sportsman. Currently into gymnastics, boxing and athletics
  • I love to travel. Here are some pics of my last trip
  • When I was 20, I figured out a new way to measure fluid in the colon of children (useful for the formulation of tablets and medication) using MRI scans. (I was lazy and didn’t want to manually measure each of the 500 slides per child so I created a new, faster way using computer graphics software [Blender]). I’ll leave a quote from Robert Heinlein which I quite like:

“Progress is made by lazy men looking for easier ways to do things” – Robert A Heinlein

  • I’m big into fitness. I’ve been going to the gym consistently for the past 9 years. I set new challenges every quarter, like learning to backflip, 140kg bench press for 8 reps and running 5km in 20 minutes.
  • I have a German Shepherd called Shadow who I love to take on big road trips and hikes.

Enjoy your visit.
